Once an Ottoman Mansion, now luxury boutique hotel in Istanbul
Boutique Saint Sophia which one once an Ottoman Mansion, is bought and renovated by two civil engineers; Mr. Ahmet Yurtsever & Mr. Sami Yıldıran in 1995 and it opened its doors as a hotel in 1998. Although we searched a lot of resources, we couldn’t find any information related to the mansion till now. We only have a picture which was a gift from late Mr. Çelik Gülersoy who had deep contributions to Sultanahmet and old city peninsula by tourismwise and historicalwise. You can see on the picture that Sultan Mahmut I, goes to Friday prayer with his soldiers and passes in front of the mansion. You can see the picture here as well.
After 15 years in January 2013, the partners decided to renovate the hotel from top to bottom and in October 2013, Saint Sophia Istanbul reopened with a fresh look and luxury design. With the new refreshed luxury look, our boutique hotel in Istanbul old city is welcoming its guests and giving them one-to-one personal care so that they will leave with unforgettable memories and come back for more.
